Swindon:

tin pot club, tin pot nothing town, tin pot supporters.

that's all you need to know. In fact the only thing ever that swindon
have contributed is band XTC.

And they won the League Cup in 1969 and Anglo-Italian Cup in 1970.

seriously if you're an away fan would you want to come to Withdean if you've been there before? I know I would'nt bother!

On the plus-side: at least they can look forward to seeing their team win away. :(

I am afraid a few of you are missing the point. I mentioned the away numbers in passing but my main point was that they didnt sing. You cant use that state of Withdean as an excuse for that.

As to saying that no one criticised the Exeter away support when we won, well firstly unilke Swindon they did turn out in large numbers and secondly that simply isnt true - there was a thread on here all about them.

A swindon fan did actually say that they say they'll never come back to withdean - every season

I'm sure they will be one of the teams that bring loads to Falmer. That should really create an atmosphere with a couple of thousand away fans at a fair few matches.

A whole load of silly buggers wearing Swindon shirts stepped off the train at Preston Park at 20 to 3 and headed for The Station pub instead of the ground. With fans like that...

It's a shocking turnout, but as said above by the other Swindon fan wouldn't you rather go to MK Dons and Southmapton than the Withdean, and that f***ing away end?

When you move to Falmer, we would bring a lot more, at least 1000-1500.

And we haven't sold over 2000 for Southampton, not a f***ing clue where he has got them figures from. I'd be surprised if there is more than 1500 on the night, with 900 odd already sold.

I'm not suprised they didn't bring more, the away end at Withdean is probably the easiest excuse to not travel to an away game in the country.

Also, they probably predicted their team would come here and defend, defend, defend.

I'm surprised we get any away fans with the worst view in football!

Exactly right.
Any Swindon fan who has sat in that stand before will never want to vome back. And many more would have heard how bad the view was.

Agree with this too.

ive sat in the away end at withdean - its not suprise people dont want to pay £23 to do it. £10 to sit there would be a bit of a joke, let alone that amount

Leeds, Norwich etc....
I think your being a little bit biased my friend
My dad knows a Brentford fan who he spoke too this morning, and MK Dons took 400 to Griffin Park, which for an hours train ride is shocking. I agree with others though, about £23 to sit in that stand being a complete and utter joke, but when you think back how many teams have brought that many from much further afield and with far less to play for.

Yes but as i said we have 3 away games in 7 days, thats one hell of a lot of money on tickets alone bung in the travel and food and programmes etc. You are bound to pick 2 of the 3. St.marys is a new ground for swindon too and it looks like we will have more than 2000 going as we have now sold 1350 in advance and the rule of thumb in our away following is usually double the amount of advance tickets. I have a ticket but im going in a car with 3 others who have yet to buy.

I would never pay £23 for that away end and im lucky in the fact i can get a freebie for withdean, im a season ticket holder at the county ground and i only live 6 miles from withdean but without the freebie i would never bother. I tip y hats to the regular 6000 of you that put up with that shithole for so long.

Cant wait for falmer, we will bring a good 1500 when we play you there in your first season in the championship in 2011 :)

Good luck mate.
I think your team are under-rated and better than the likes of Millwall and Colchester.
Can understand reasons for not going to Withdean but thought a club with loyal fans who have done well this season would have brought more. But three points is what it is all about.

Great result for both of us tonight, nice one.

Just to back up my arguments on here, we took over 2000 to st marys tonight, cant wait to take the same numbers to falmer.
