I am once again taking part in the Swimathon in aid of Marie Curie.

Swimming 200 Lengths = 5K and hoping for a time of 1hr 40min.

Anyone else taking part in this at their local pool?

I have previously done the 2.5K but upped the challenge this year.

Doing a 10k run next Sunday and been going to the gym 6 days a week since November. I'm trying my best master! Good luck on your swimathon. I'm going home for a wankathon.

When is yours CB?

You are well in with a chance of a Palace victory as I only did it in 1hour 34 min.

Good luck.
1hr 28mins, get in there. Very pleased and raised £1200.00 for Marie Curie. Totally unexpected time I must say.:clap2:

Well done.

I did one 3 years back on my own. 200 lengths of my local pool. Was totally knackered at the end.

Well done. Impressive time and £1200 is also a very impressive amount of money. Puts my amount to shame. If we get organised for next year, I’m sure we could arrange a sweepstake on here for a bit of extra cash. I will be doing it again I’m sure.

The times for the swimathon are always a bit strange. This year the powers that be put me in a lane with 3 people doing breaststroke. Makes it impossible to get any rhythm going and you get more tired with the constant stopping and starting. The last 4 times I’ve done have been in 1hr 28, 1hr 30, 1hr 21 and 1hr 34min. Work that out!

Last year I did 2.5K in 52mins but I have trained hard this year and did 2.5k in 43min yesterday. I had two 2 kids in my lane last year and over took them every 4 lengths or so and they were a pain in the backside. Yesterday I was lucky to swim with two other blokes of similar standard and we arranged an overtaking procedure out beforehand. It would be good again next year and I hope to train even harder again!!!!!!!! 1hr 21 is very good going. I reckon I clould have done 1hr 25 yeseterday if my goggles did not fill up every 20 or so lengths.

Around 1 hr 40 mins if I remember. I have a certificate at home somewhere with the exact time.
