Sweepstake Anyone? (Rugby League)

T'Super League isn't proper rugby, but what the hell, I'm in. I've killed a few pleasant summer hours watching the Broncos, drinking very strange Aussie brew.

super league makes more sense than the disgraceful farce which union suffered last year! how can a team that finishes the league miles ahead not be crowned champions! that rule has to change, imagine how we would have felt if we had won div 2 then had to have a 'final' against the team that came 6th to see who wins...disgrace:angry:

rant over....for now

Crucial differences:
1) In rugby league, the majority of points are actually scored with tries!
2) In rugby league, you tend not to be able to relieve pressure by simply booting the ball into touch as far as possible. And then being clapped for this ingenious bit of skill by the crowd.
3) The rules in rugby league tend to promote skilful running with the ball rather than kick and clap.

If rugby league had the international profile that union enjoys, it would be miles better than union. Obviously in reality union is better because we're better than the Aussies at it.

You don't get six "goes" to try and create something in Union, which generally leaves you up at the other end of the field when it's the other teams "go". Even more effective than a Union kick which gives the other team the ball.

Yeah but in the end, rugby league promotes running rugby. Drop kicks are worth only a point and you don't get daft push over tries where the fatties roll the maul over the line (because being halted even if on your feet is considered to be a tackle)
