Have a business contact who is a senior partner within Swansea City. Just spoke to him and the conversation as always turned to football.

So I asked him, who the next manager was going to be? He, knowing I am an Albion supporter laughed and said 'You mean are we trying to pinch Gus Poyet'

He told me that Gus had been contacted, but had declined to be interviewed as he was about to sign a four year deal with us.

Before you ask, no i will not reveal my contact's name to the Forum, but will to an administrator such as HITony if asked.

That sounds believable because it sounds so boring and mundane. Couldn't you have dressed it up a bit? Added some tales of secret meetings in motorway service stations? Or say that he was enticed by the promise of a massive transfer budget and rumours of expensive signings, but that negotiations ultimately broke down due to Gus's unreasonable wage demands (as he's currently on 10mil a year at the Albion).

A simple 'was contacted but declined to be interviewed' isn't going to sell many newspapers when the Argus run this story.

Nope, you're right. SHIT.

This is good news though. Not that i've doubted him, just nice to hear things like this.

I do apologise

Brovion, I am sorry,I clearly forgot that the aim of posting on the Forum was to be controversial, abusive or slanderous and not to report factual conversations and events.

I'll wait next time before posting, until I have thought up some utter boll ox to post, so it is fit to publish in the Argus, Sun or News of the World.

Please accept my apologies for my error.

Been hoping that's our Gus, Huw Jenkins is describing right there.

Gus knows he has a much better chance of getting in to the Prem by staying here.

Really? Swansea missed the playoffs by a whisker last season, we avoided relegation from a division below, so not convinced that's quite true.

Yes, whereas no-one wanted the Jan Vennegoor rumours to be true.

Some of the "inside info" is a stretch too far to be credible though. This little snippet is eminently believable Jan Vennegor was clearly bullshit.
