I have a bet with someone on here that he won't be able to improve the League position on the team he takes over :annoyed:City is one team it would be hard to keep as shit as Pearce had them, especially if they have money behind them. Even Sven MIGHT do better than Pearce.

So IF Shinawatra takes over Eriksson MIGHT be made manager.

Seems fairly unlikely that with his assets frozen and having been ordered back to Bangkok to face corruption charges or else face arrest that his takeover will go through...

If he goes 2 years without losing a competitive game like he did with England, I imagine that'll make him somewhat of a success.

Seriously though, he's not got a bad record as a club manager at all, I think he'll do ok...

Have you seen his club record?

Not suited to the English game and far too negative to be anything but draw specialists imo. Great in Italy as they used to play though. I'm not convinced he'll be all that in England but I hope we find out because I stand by my opinion that he is dull manager and a poor man's Mourinho without the tactical nous.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
I don't think so given that he would depend on a new owner who appears to have major problems with the source of his money. How can you have an additional £310 million which somebody has to "find" unless it is deeply corrupt? How much more has this crook siphoned off from his country?

Officials have traced an additional £310million in assets of the ousted former Prime Minister.

A government official said these will now be frozen as the investigation continues into alleged corruption.

Thaksin was toppled by a bloodless coup last September and has been targeted by several investigations into alleged corruption and abuse of power.

The Assets Examination Committee has already frozen 52.88 billion baht (£800million) of Thaksin's money.

But the government said 20 billion baht (£310 million) was missing from the 74.3 billion baht sale of his telecommunications company Shin Corp to Temasek Holdings, a Singapore government investment company in January 2006.

"The AEC tracked the money trail and found that more than 20 billion baht was shifted to the accounts of companies instead of to individual accounts. AEC is set to freeze those accounts," said auditor general Jaruvan Maintaka told reporters.

The AEC has frozen Thaksin's assets pending his trial on charges of corruption and abuse of power.

Police have ordered Thaksin to return to Thailand to face charges that he concealed his ownership of millions of pounds worth of shares from the Thai stock exchange.

Yes. That's me. Was it £50 or £20, I can't remember?

An interesting bet - it could have been a lot worse for you as he could have taken over at Wigan or West Ham right at the bottom. He'll have an interesting challenge.

It's a strange choice though, City's problem was scoring goals and Sven's teams aren't exactly renowned for being goal-happy.

Athol Sthil (sp!) was just on TalkSport saying that there has been absolutely no contact from Man City whatsoever. The paper that reported this said an interview took place, at the time Sven was commentating of the Real Madrid game!!

Load of newspaper nonsense if you ask me!!

I'm inclined to say £20.00 if it's City but it was definitely £50.00 to REMF

If Sven goes anywhere in the UK he will be a laughing stock. And I pity the fans of any club he goes to, they too will be a laughing stock, can you imagine the shame of it. I don't think he has any place in British football and should get lost now. Think of all that money he has ben paid for the past year or so, and where does the money come from? The FA gets its money from where, oh yes, the sponsors and the clubs, and the clubs get their money from, oh yeah, the fans. Sven, get lost, and don't come back.
