.. i also believe some of you predict doom and gloom, basically because you know the odds are on your side, and the chances are, AFTER the event, you can do the clever thing and say "i told you so" in future threads / posts.

Whether about England or the Albion this is SOOOOO true.

It all depends on the manner of the exit. If England progress in the tournament but go out after a titanic battle (Germany 90/96, Argentina 98), then you can only hold your hands up and say fair enough, great effort but in the end beaten by the better team.

If we limp out of this tournament like we did in 2002 and 2004 though, then yes, I think people will be quite entitled to say 'told you so', because all the warning signs have been there.

Its not worth playing him today, if we cant beat T&T without Rooney we really are in trouble, theres no harm in giving him another 5 days and let him start against Sweden.

He will be a sub i'm sure, but will only play for the last 15-20mins just to get a run out. He will only be bought on if we have already got the game won by that stage.

He will probably be a sub against Sweden as well, but is more likely to get half a game.

If all goes well he will then start against whoever we get in the knockout stage.

From todays press conference.

"For me Rooney is match-fit but let me sleep on it. I will decide tomorrow morning," said Eriksson. "Almost for sure (he is) not starting the match, I don't think he has 90 minutes in him yet."

*sigh*
So he' NOT match fit then is he Sven. Sleep on it all you like, you can't "decide" if he's match fit, he either is or he isn't. This on top of last weeks announcement that Rooney is "100% injury free". No he's NOT Sven, he's still recovering from a broken bone in his foot that only happened 6 weeks ago. Is he doing this to deliberately wind Fergie up ? Or does he just think we're all stupid ?

All the talk from Sven in the build-up to Paraguay was that Owen was fully fit and raring to go. So fit that he didn't even last an hour, as it turned out. Beckham was apparently fully fit in 2002 when the tournament started - what a crock of shit that turned out to be. I don't think I'd believe Sven if he told me what day it is, the delusional buffoon.

hooray, another reminder of reality once again. obviously, easy knows better than sven once again. you're like a broken record, just give it a f***ing rest.
