This could be a very long season of chasing leather and splintering wickets for Sussex....

106-3, nice to see Mike Yardy back and scoring some runs, we seem to have calmed down after the ludicrous start to the run chase....

Ton-up Murray, another classy knock to get us out of jail.

Then ends the match with a 6. Great to see Yardy back and making a useful contribution today too.

We do seem to be shockingly light in batting this season. What's happened to Lou Vincent? And where's the South African all-rounder (forgotten his name)? If he's not going to play in the one-dayers then why have we got him?

Lou Vincent has only got his passport yesterday, we now have to wait forthe Fuckwits at the ECB to process his registratio.........so 5-24 days, anyones guess.
Kurt Warners was 12 man at Derby, and is knocking on the door, he is rated as a batsman that can bowl a bit, but is not a front line bowler, so he is not going to displace Nash, Joyce, Goodwin, Yardy and Wright if fit. Think he will feature in some 40 over games, although according to Robbo, he is one for next year for sure.

How long until Prior returns?

Don't know but as he's got a Central Contract I don't suppose we will see him too often in any case this summer.

I'm not too fussed as Brown and Hodd are both better wicketkeepers than him in any case IMO.

My beef against England is knackering Wright & Yardy over the course of the winter although it was good to see the skipper back today

Can't agree that Hodd and Brown are better wicket-keepers than Prior to be honest. However they are both very good players. Great to see Goodwin finish it with that six. A good match I thought - our middle order was stronger than recently.

I'd rather a batter that bowled a bit than a bowler - that middle order looks awfully light. Good news about Vincent though.

Prior has improved immensely as a wickie - I was at the MCG and watched him take the catches that retained the Ashes - but he is first and foremost an aggressive batsman who can keep in the manner of Alex Stewart.

IMO Hodd is a better keeper and Brown (despite his awful start to the season) is a classier batsman. Just wish Sussex had this strength in depth with pace bowlers....

Only saw the end today, Murray was quality although very lucky to be dropped on 97, fantastic 6 to win the game.

New stand open next Sunday for the bumper crowd after Albions victory parade.
