A tie means that the scores are the same at the conclusion of the match (ie either once both two teams have completed both innings, or when the match comes to an end in terms of time ie in this case, the end of the fourth day).

A draw means that the scores are not the same at the end of the match, but neither team has won (which Irefuse to explain!)

tie is when same ammount of runs are scored both both teams, draw is when the team batting 2nd does not equal the other team's total but is not bowled out.

My mate who is obviously bored at work sent me this info.

Now my maths may be wrong but as Lancs are 5 down, I’ll run this scenario by you. Should they get less than 300 first innings and go onto lose, then I think we could afford to draw and win on the number of wins during the season. 3 + 2 points for them, 5 + 3 + 4 points for us; the difference is currently 6, so they would be level on points.

Is this right that we could win the championship by default?
