High up on the South Downs.
Indeed.

Warwickshire took 135 overs to reach 400 runs. That's a run rate that makes for dreadfully DULL cricket.

There should be PENALTY points for teams who take more than 120 overs to reach 400.

This mentality goes a long way to explaining why Sussex will deservedly be relegated. Slow pitches create dull cricket. Warks's batsmen batted with patience. Sussex's batsmen, with one notable exception, couldn't cope with the pressure and then overbowled Chawla.

If cricket is dull how would you describe Public Planning Inquiries then?

428 all out.

At 3 runs an over, there are about 480 runs left in this game. Sussex need to recover the 174 run deficit and then score half of the remaining 306. And then some.

In other words, we need at least 350 in the second innings. Bat until tea tomorrow.

Target for close of play today ... 175 runs; no more than 2 (or, at worst, 3) wickets down. Saving wickets is more important than the runs.

Another four sessions of TEDIUM, please.

Durham are County Champions btw - assuming that Nottinghamshire won't beat them - and they won't.

Durham 648/5d
Nottinghamshire 269/7 (75.1 ov)

Nottinghamshire trail by 379 runs with 3 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

I was there yesturday and it was the most boring days cricket i've ever seen. Only shining moment was when my mate walked straight up the pavilion to get Bell, Trott and Giles autographs. When he came back down he got told off by the Sussex guy. Then when he sat back down with us we asked him why he missed Donald for him to say, f**k didn't see him up there.

The drinking was good also.
