Head is well in line to be Sussex's worst overseas signing - he's scored 38 runs in five innings, that's shocking.

SCCC ran an online competition this month. The question was how many runs would Head score in May. I went for 52 and thought I was being a miserable pessimist. .... I'm now quite optimistic that I've won.

Really need someone to get a big century here. Who's going to do it, that's the trouble. Tom Haines going well - but can he stay?

Have you been watching him ? What’s going wrong , apart from the obvious ?
This is an experienced test batsman facing a fair few county plodders .

200 lead up, and 50 partnership between Brown and Carson.

Good game in progress, only disappointment so far today is hearing on the commentary that Brown supports Chelsea.

Crawley boy innnit? We're lucky he doesn't support Palace.

Excellent fight shown by the young (and depleted) Sussex side. Still behind the game but have a chance.

Oops! Another mini-collapse, the second of the day. Three wickets for one run and all out 298. Can we bowl them out for under 217?

No chance.
Our lads are coming on but Northants are far too strong a batting unit.

Sussex have fought back well. They're going to lose but made a fight of it. Don't blame the kids - Van Zyl and Head should take a good hard look at themselves after this.

This - Northants are an accumulation of knarled old pros, fat boys and "A" county rejects. Overall they've just had too much cunning and know-how for the Sussex kids (Kerrigan did a real number on Haines to get him out by way of an example) + Head is supposed to be an Aussie Test player ffs.

It's been a while since "Australian test batsman" carried any implication of quality, beyond Steve Smith and Warner when he's batting in Australia.
