Durham have about 84 overs in which to take the remaining 7 wickets.

72 balls per partnership to deal with.

Only about 24 of those deliveries will represent a serious threat. Surely our batters can deal with that.

Are you not aware of our recent batting displays ?

Does Joyce regard our games as a friendly net session to get him in tune for double centuries against UAE or Papua New Guinea and the like?

Does Nash regard our games as an opportunity to look (and bat like) Phil Tufnell?

Does Machan wish his surname was Machin?

This game has gone, fair enough against the side that will likely win the County Championship.

Much more concerning is the fact that, by mid June, we have knackered virtually all of our pace attack and our batsmen have forgotten how to score runs.

Cricinfo is saying one of our BATSMEN has scored a ton, must be some kind of GLITCH.

Don't be churlish. Of course it's not a mistake. The plucky, pressure-off ton, in a losing cause is a fine Sussex tradition.

Just after Wells was out, the Sussex Twitter account replied to someone's "How many overs are left in the day?", with "61 overs". I typed out a response "as if. About 10 realistically" but couldn't be arsed, so deleted it. Should have sent it.

Brown harshly adjudged lbw on 60 to leave Sussex all out 335. Sussex ROBBED by poor officiating just as the target was in sight.

So Sussex's 10th wicket partnership proved to be only the SECOND highest in their innings. Sad to see that even this is on the decline, given it was the highest partnership in our 1st innings.

Surely time to drop Tardy and Gash and give someone else a chance in the top order?

I couldn't agree more, however do we have anyone better at the club? Since Grizzly's left we've plummeted to the depths. Reminds me off the Sussex of old full of nice chaps but bereft of winners.
