anyways, how come we are the only team that have to enter our reserves? crawley, being a professional team should have to do the same surely?

It is an FA rule that every team registered with a county FA whether it be a professional club like BHA or a local sunday league pub team has to enter the relevant county cup for their respective standard, unless they are given special exdemption by the County FA. Hence most teams enter their first team which in fact we could if we wished but it is usual for league clubs like us to enter their reserves.

For many years Palace were given special exemption by Surrey County FA not to enter the Surrey Senior Cup but in return played the winners at the winners home ground as a pre season friendly with the proceeds going to the County FA Benevolunt Fund.

It is up to the club to ask for this exemption so obviously as a club the management feel that the matches are of use to the reserves.

Could also be a good way of comparing and 'potential' players up against our standards to see if they only look good in county league 3!
