Sussex Friendlies

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I guess it will all depend on whether Mushy and Rana are playing for Pakistan. If we have them for the majority of the season, I don't see why we won't challenge.

We have lost Wardy and Ambrose, but to be fair, they didn't do a great deal for us last season.

Lets hope, for Sussex's sake that Prior does not have to make the tea for England all Summer. At least Rana's here for the first 2 months at least

The Times predicts that we will finish 9th
"With all due repsect, we should be beating..." :tosser:

When will the papers finally acknowledge that, in the past three years, we have been the most consistent side in the country? Two top three finishes, plus a one day second division championship. They really have no idea what they're on about.

Montgomerie
Goodwin
Yardy
Adams
Hopkinson
Prior
RMJ
Rana
Mushtaq Ahmed
Kirtley
Lewry

That is a first XI which, on their day, could blow anyone away in this country.

I too find it strange that Sussex are consistently underestimated by the pundits and the bookies. We finished third last year (after some terrible luck with the weather) and our team isn't much altered from then.

No Rana for a chunk of the season but Spencer will probably be a better fill-in than Van Wath (and I'm not sure whether he's an overseas player so we might have him all season).

Looking forward to some of the Warks game this week.

Surely the World Cup will put the cricket on hold this summer.

Looking at the fixtures sussex dont play when england do, plus as the world cup is in europe this year the games will be in the evening so you can go to the cricket then watch the 8pm game after
Im really looking foward to the start of the cricket season, my first game will be the may 1st game out hove

Crystal Gayle - 'Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue'?

Hmm, sorry, doesn't really shore up the opening batsmen role for me.

Sussex 149-3. Grizzly's hit Sussex's first 50 of the season: 51 not out.

He's just retired "out" for 101, Tucker's still going strong with 62.
