Anyone know how they have been going? I know we lost the first game with Kirtley running up off his shortened run up but have heard nothing since and the Argus website has nothing....

only snippets secondhand, but i don't think they went very well...

Northants 300 odd beat Sussex 200 odd...?

Kent 250 ish beat Sussex 200 ish...?

anyone know more accurately... team lists would be of particular interest (presumably no Mushy, Muzza and Rana yet? + no Matty P. leaves us significantly weakened from our starting line-up...)

edit: thanks for the cricinfo links... pretty much as I thought... RUNS for Yards and Grizz are nice to see... 36 not out from Hoddy, plenty of overs from Ambi, a decent spell by Yards, etc for the glass half-fullers...

Mushy, Rana and Prior certainly aren't here. We are looking a bit stretched at the minute. It could be a long (but never the less enjoyable) summer.

Saw some footage on the ITV website the other day - the players all had woolly hats on and gloves - its just not right playign cricket in April !!

Kirtley's action was visibly different as well - I think that doesn't bode well for us as such a massive change in action will take time to get used to.

Surely the World Cup will put the cricket on hold this summer.

Nothing will ever put cricket 'on hold'.

don't like the sound of this hosepipe ban, slightly more worrying news than Bush's intention to nuke Iran IMHO

The total of 211-9 from 50 overs still looked to be competitive but some excellent batting by Sussex opening pair, Richard Montgomerie (98) and Carl Hopkinson (89) who added 185 for the first wicket ensured that Surrey would have to wait until they posted their second win of the season.

Good to see Hoppo in the runs, he needs to start contributing with the bat a bit more. He can't make the side just because of his fielding.

Is Luke Wright fit and playing these games?
