The whole thing seemed a complete shower on Friday night. I got down a bit late to join Dad, as I had to come from London. They had just one person on the Palmeira Avenue gate, with large numbers of people trying to get in. I went to take up my seat in the Pavilion Upper (normally we sit in Dad's membership seats in the lower tier) and the steward on duty, who was not uniformed, hadn't got a clue where Block K was (for some reason the dividing line is horizontal rather than vertical, which makes for loads more confusion). Then the cricket was dire to say the least. I even nearly found myself cheering on Chris Schofield's fine bowling performance. On Sunday, we came down for the game which was cancelled due to rain, and the people on the gate did not even know the official refunds policy. I might go and see Slurrey instead. At least you know what you will get there, even if their attitude to members sometimes seems a bit slapdash.
TLO - my point was that I didn't know what the price should have been so, when they asked for £25, I had no problem as this was about the same as for Withdean.
In fact, I would happily pay £5 extra for the view I had anyway - especially as it's going to SCCC.

I took someone on Friday as a birthday present.
Thought is was badly run and stank of premership football greed. We spent most the game queing in long queues for beer, so missed most the match. The Pavilion and extra stand were £5 extra!
When this competition started it was £10 or £5 if you wore a local sports shirt, the grounds were full and Sussex made a very good profit.
20/20 was aimed at bringing new people to the game, well the comments I got when queing for beer and missing most the game were not positive ones.
Sussex need to learn from this if they want to keep 7000 punters happy and wanting more. It's fair to say the team did'nt help matters.

Where does it say that North Stand tickets are £20 in advance?Tickets on the gate are £5 more than buying in advance.
The north stand tickets are £20 in advance, therefore £25 on the gate.

If you go to book online, it tells you to call a phone number. When you call the phone number, they tell you it's £15.

The only thing I can think of is that the North Stand seats are in the members' area, and that therefore you have to pay the extra £5 as above. But then again, I thought that the North Stand seats are in the public area.
Unless I am missing something spectacularly obvious...
Im sure i read on the poster in the walkabout that its £15 in advance and £25 on the gate. If thats right then thats a 60% rise which is outrages.

I'd be happy to get any sort of response from Sussex. I renewed my membership in May and despite repeated calls to the club, I can't get anyone to tell me what's happening with it. I've left my number several times as there's no-one from the ticket office available but no-one calls back.
I've now written to Gus Mackay but from what Alan says, that sounds like a waste of time too. I've been a member of SCCC since 1970 and it's normally been very quick and easy to renew but under this regime, things have obviously changed for the worse.

From what I understand as a result of talking to... 'someone', you may well get a reply from said CEO after all, but don't expect it to be particularly pleasant.
Ha...I've just had a phone call from the club saying that my membership's been sorted and apologising for lack of action.
I think they could have offered some sort of compensation for the delay though. It was all a bit grudging and there seemed to be a bit of an impression that it was somehow my fault.

They are not that bothered, lots of 'new' money coming into the club, lost of sponsorship etc etc.
They should remember where they were in 1996 etc with about 3 coming in for county games the ungratefull BASTARDS.

After ringing on Thursday night to see if they had a answerphone message about ticket availability for Friday, you press 5 for tickets, and get through to the answerphone for the catering department.
I booked tickets Friday morning over the phone and was told to collect the at the main gate. Arrived at the gate and nothing, then nothing for the bloke about four behind me in the queue. We got taken to the ticket office and had to PAY AGAIN!
Then someone else from the club comes in, in a panic because loads of people are turning up at the gate with no tickets waiting for them. After she read the first five names I suggested that maybe it was more than a coincidence that everyones surname whos tickets were missing began with H? Blank looks.
While chatting to one of the ladies in the ticket office, I began telling her about the telephone system and she interupted me and said "yeah, it takes you to the catering department doesn't it!" Well, if you know about it, f***ing do something about it! It seemed like an in joke for them.
