I wonder if Uncle Tony has stats on cricket players as well. It would be great to come up with an undiscovered gem as an overseas player - someone at about the third of the price of an established big name but does a lot more. Or an under-appreciated county player: don't forget that when we picked up Robbo, he was without a county.

I wonder what sort of team we'll put out against Middlesex. It wouldn't surprise me to see a couple of kids in it. I think they'll keep the bowling attack but wonder whether we'll see the likes of Ibrahim, Rogers, Tear and ZLC be given a game (not all of them, but a couple of changes).
I think Robbo's talents were well known, it was just his disciplinary record. I'd say Luke Wright would be a good example.

Little quiz questions for folks.

Which Sussex player's first three wickets came from a hat trick against a county he would move to many years later ? (last 50 years)

I really hope this is not the case. We need just 5 bonus points to secure the TITLE. Middlesex need a maximum point win, for a slim chance of overhauling Yorkshire, so will be absolute full strength.

Throwing away the title now, would really leave a fantastic season, with a bitter aftertaste.

It would be like Villa Park all over again.

Was it Andrew Babington? He took a hat trick but didn't think they were his 1st wickets (he had taken one in the over before I think)

Have you been drinking too much champers? I would be livid if I was left out of this match so a youngster could get some experience (what would it prove anyway?). If Farbrace has done anything it has been to create a winning mentality, a team of winners…. And we want to win every match and finish top of the pile.
Strongest team available please!

Putting out anything other than a full strength side would be madness, IMO.

I'll have a guess at Ed Giddins. (No idea really, a total stab in the dark)

Dermot Reeve?

Adrian Jones?

Ian Salisbury?
My word. None of the above. I didn't think this one would last as long. One of these has the correct county that he joined, which isn't in the West Country or the Midlands.

Can any of you dear chaps tell me where I can buy the Cricket Paper locally ? It's a good rag and I'd rather not put on subscription.

So it's most likely Surrey but could be Hampshire (think Giddins played for them)

It is Surrey (I forgot Giddins spent a season there)

Ed Giddins was one Sussex player I would have been confident bowling to :ROFLMAO:
