In Radio Sussex interview after Saturdays game with Tymal Mills he said the only good thing to come out of the day might be Gloucestershire being off the pace this week, seems he was right.
Millsie took one for the (red ball) team.

as 10cc say, not in hove
I like cricket but I'm no expert with the County rules. What will be the tactics? Bat for as long as possible picking up whatever points are achievable, and hope to build a position where the draw would be good enough?

So much time in the game they don't really need to consider tactics. Just bat.

Edit: so yeah, basically what you said.

Not sure tactics come into it too much when you've bowled the other team out for 109 in 44overs.
Clear weather forecast up to Friday as well, so I assume they'll try and get a lead and then see where they are when the cutoff for bonus points is approaching. Assuming we don't get bowled out ourselves obviously.

Tom Price, currently bowling to Tom Haines and Tom Clark (with Tom Alsop in next).
The village tradition is to have a Dave. I don't think I can remember us ever not having one.

Just far enough away from LDC
So at the moment we have the 3 booking bonus points. We do need to bat calmly for next 60 overs. Just above 3 an over will take is close to 3 batting bonus points

Yes, excellent morning of booking from the team. Where are they off too ?

At the moment, our worst case is that we finish the match 15 points ahead of Middlesex. Every batting point we get increases that margin as does every batting point that Middlesex fail to get. If we could get three more points and Middlesex are out for 440, then that margin is 19 points going into the last match - and that's assuming we'll lose. Some sensible batting tomorrow and we're home and hosed

Didn't realize the Aussie season started this weekend.

With a bit more notice we could have potentially added an overseas batter for the last two games to replace Hughes.
Pretty sure that wouldn't be worth the cost. Didn't help Surrey when they got in Shakib Al Hasan for the Somerset match. And Sussex are a club that can't afford to turn the floodlights on: why would they splash out for such a risk?

Bit of a slog up at Blackstone for the 2's this week on an awful looking pitch. Ibrahim with a decent 99 in the first innings, but not much else.
Glamorgan 100 or so ahead now with 4 wickets remaining....with all of today and tomorrow to go.

From a ppov, its been frustrating. Frankie out for 7 on day one, and is the only one in the team not to have bowled at all 😏 🤔

*Sussex have come out fast and taken some wickets early this morning.....
