I think thats a little harsh on the youngsters when they've barely started their careers. There are some very good players out there but, for whatever reason, its just not happening for them right now. I have my own opinions on what some of the problems are - but I wont be sharing them on a public forum, understandably.
Didn't someone say a while ago that the club arent skint either?, and that they actually have a healthy amount to fall back on?
Maybe it is harsh. But either way they're not good enough for country cricket right now. Some of the very young ones are good but Atkins, crocombe etc are not county players in my eyes. Two or three in the team would make sense, but you've basically got 6 or 7 who are u21 and not experienced enough. Perhaps if the county didnt only recruit from three schools they might have more success? I wonder where the team that sussex fielded in the last match would finish in the sussex prem?

Rob Andrew is firmly in the crosshairs for me. Wherever he's gone has turned to rubble. I feel for Farbrace. He's trying to play a concert with only a few musicians...

My understanding of the situation was the club are skint until the money from the redevelopment starts flowing. But I wouldnt take that as gospel

I went today - cracking game, should have won it really. Ibrahim didn't deserve to be on the losing side. I do have a soft spot for the Bears though!
You saw one of the best ones. It was pleasing to see Sussex give it a good go. Although the reality is the standard of player is low.
You mention Ibrahim . He has had a difficult season but if he comes through it and learns from it he can develop into a decent player. He’s been influential with bat and ball recently.
Shame about the dropped catch . Maybe sun was in his eyes, but it did look good height and close to him . Ah well.
Zach has done well in Oxfordshire cricket and is also a talent.

All very well but can remember been told 4 seasons ago to stick with the youngsters. How long does this go on

Len Hutton was only 21 when he scored 365 against Australia in 1938.

This lot wouldn't score 365 in 1938 innings

Len Hutton was one of the greatest batsman of all time.

We might as well criticise the current players for not showing any signs of conquering Persia, since Alexander the Great managed that by his mid 20s.

He will be gutted about last night. We were watching the live stream and my lad just had his head in his hands when Zach dropped that one. When you look at the length of the shadows pointing his way, the sun was very low, & right in his eyes. Probably more difficult to catch than it initially looked tbh.

I understand fans frustrations...but I see all the hard work, time, and sacrifices from everyone first hand - so cant sit here and rip the club...even if they are doing poorly with results the last couple of seasons.

At this point in time Im too close to the action, so to speak, & its beginning to annoy me the constant negativity towards the club & players, so will stay out of discussions about the state of SCCC from now on.

Please don't be put off by the miserablists - I enjoy your inside insights and positive contributions about our young players.

Probably a wise move, however in response to one of your earlier comments, Rob Andrew has regularly said that financially the club is in a good place. Whilst this is good news for the club’s future existence it doesn’t seem to do much for the standard of cricket. Even Pujara seems to have caught the Sussex bug!

There may be lots of hard work and sacrifices, but most of them simply aren't good enough at first class level.

At least I knew I was crap when I played at my level.
