Trialist verdict : Karvelas yes, Currie no (we should look for better).

Talk of Pujura coming back next season, but isn’t Head returning ?

Outstanding day at Hove today.
Full house - just goes to show what can be done if the Exterminating Cricket Board actually give the club some decent home fixtures in peak season.
Also an excellent initiative from the SCF to reward volunteers in the recreational game with free tickets and a pie+pint voucher.
Another masterclass from Pujara. He was far too good for the brown hatters that showed up and is challenging your Frys and your Ranjis for best ever Sussex batting.

That was excellent - the pie and the pint was a real bonus (Piglets and Harvey's too). It was good to see the volunteers from the club game getting their awards in the break. And Johnny Barclay seems to have scarcely aged, looks he could still go out there!

There was a fantastic atmosphere yesterday - pity it wasn't much of a game.

Karvelas looks a real find, I think Currie's pretty decent too

One thing that's not been mentioned is Sussex's fielding, it was top notch yesterday. And it's not just being a young side, Surrey's fielding was decidedly sloppy

Was a great day - despite the fact the Surrey capitulated - but it was nowhere near full.

Pujara - what an innings - sheer class - footwork, timing - an innings that had everything.

Fair play to Tom Clark. He’s clearly been putting the hours in behind the scenes.
He’s gone from Harry Finch level, to approaching Tom Haines level.

EDIT Clark out 1m48s after I wrote this post. Sorry Tom, sorry everyone.

Our middle order contributes very little.

23 needed off 26 balls. 4 wickets left.
