From 225 for 1, and 354 for 6 at the end of day 1, to pray for rain and hope for a draw on day 3!!

Checking in at half time.

Pujara.

Wow. I’d stopped looking, assumed there might not be much more play when they went off earlier on. Good stuff.

Same here. Pujara has 672 runs already this season.

Sussex lead about to pass 300.

At what point do we declare and try for a result? Or should we just see out the draw?

Declaration in.

Pujara unbeaten in 170.

701 runs from 6 innings. 2 nos.

Average now 175.

An improvement on Travis Head last year.

FFS. We’ve let Middlesex accelerate with ease, and they now only need 86 off the last 15 overs, 7 wickets still standing. Grrr.

Incredible really. Some positives in this one but crikey losing like this is embarrassing.

Mason Crane only gets wickets when the delivery is so bad it catches the batsman by surprise.
I can’t believe how poor he’s been.

Salisbury comes across like he genuinely cares, and is doing his best. He’s likeable.
I’m losing faith in him as a coach though. He always seems to be one step behind.

So, batting 4th on a four day old pitch Middlesex scored 370 at 5 an over to win ? Might be time to join the Minor Counties?

Deepest, darkest Sussex
Last season someone on here (apologies, I forget who) mentioned Sussex had a First Division bowling attack and a Minor Counties batting lineup. It would appear we have resolved both of those issues.

Crane was hopeless today. I’d have put him on the first Southampton train off Hove after the close with a note simply saying “no thanks”.

Indeed, it did, for Middx. We're not up to much atm are we, excepting Pujara, occasionally Rizwan and, hopefully Robinson. Tough season ahead. Thank the Lord for BHA.
Can Pujara bowl ?
