I spent a couple of hours on Saturday tracking a copy down on the internet and burning it onto a CD.

Great scenes at the Severn Bridge Toll on Sunday, loads of Albion all queing up to pay and there we are windows wound down blasting out GOSBTS - first time I've started a rendition from me motor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even greater scenes after the game sitting in the car waiting for the road to re-open, windows down stereo on full Albion fans pissing themselves laughing and joining in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:lolol:

I particularly enjoyed the build-up to the game when they played GOSBTS over the PA as well as some tune relevant to Bristol City. Was it my imagination or did we wipe the floor with them on our response compared to theirs?

We certainly did. SBTS is a stirring inspiring marching song as opposed to some overused and overhyped pop song.

I love it.

How do these anthems get played at these big matches? Does someone from the club or supporters club contact the stadium and supply a copy of the appropriate tune or is there someone at the stadium who does some investigating to get the right songs? Just like to know out of interest.

I presume the Stadium ask each club what their 'anthem' is and ask for a copy ready to play.

On NSC for over two decades...
Our anthem is both aged and unique, and WONDERFULL!

Do you remember a couple of years ago the club asked us whether we wanted to change the tune the team came onto the field to? And our response was of course......., keep Sussex by the Sea!!!

(or was that just some crazy cheese-fuelled dream I had?)

Great to hear SBTS on Sunday - obviously the best, but is it the oldest club song?:flameboun

Don't think so!

"How long have this been going on?"

Everton and Spurs are still fighting that one out!

and "I was born with a smile on my face!" Swindon Town.

Not forgetting "Money's too tight to mention!" Chesterfield!

We did indeed wipe the floor with them , but then again 'Drink up ze cider' by the Wurzels aint exactly a classic !

Sussex by the Sea is the bloody National Anthem!!

Hearing it before the game on Sunday made it feel like a home match.

Surely Everton can't have the oldest anthem - it's the theme to Z-cars.
