According to the Guardian today, Susanna Reid is going to ITV for double the money she is currently getting to host a replacement for Daybreak.

That's her destined to oblivion, then a la Christine Bleakley. - Discuss

Add Adrian Chiles to that list too, however, he has recently crawled back to the Beeb to host friday drivetime on 5Live.

Thought the Sun broke that last week.
Wasn`t it her ex partner who spilled the beans and then joined match.com

They may well have done - sorry if it is old news. I did a search and couldn't find any mention of it in these pages.

Presenters going to the ITV Morning programme is the equivalent of promising strikers going to Tottenham.

To lose one of your most popular female TV presenters in a day could be considered unlucky. To lose 2 looks rather careless for the BBC.

Susanna Reid will be absolutely fine because she's good, and the comparisons with Christine Bleakley are daft as Reid has a much, much more established journalistic career having presented Breakfast for nearly 10 years, presented on News 24 before that and stood in for Andrew Marr on his show while he was ill, but that said that doesn't guarantee her a long lasting career at ITV. She will always be vulnerable on that show because whatever rebranding they give their breakfast show, it will still get thrashed in the ratings by BBC Breakfast for the very scientific reason that BBC Breakfast isn't interrupted by adverts every 10 minutes, so it enables the programme to breathe. That's the adjustment she has to make, working on a programme where she will be so cramped for time. You can't blame her for leaving though as she will get triple the money for doing an hour and a half's less work a day and not have to commute 2 and a half hours to work every day either. The BBC moving its operations to Salford was a really stupid idea, added to which they are no longer up for paying top dollar for their presenters since Sachsgate for fear of being picked apart by the Conservative Government who hate the corporation.

Reid could do with a better co-presenter than Ben Shephard though. Seriously, what has he ever done? He is the Tom Cleverley of television anchoring. He was rubbish on GMTV, he's dreadful on Tipping Point and not much better on Goals On Sunday and he absolutely butchered the Gordon Burns role in that dreadful remake of The Krypton Factor. Seeing as how they have poached his wingwoman from Sky News, ITV should've made Eamonn Holmes their number 1 target. He's not everyone's cup of tea because his ego, but he is by far the most accomplished live broadcaster at that time of the morning, with nearly 25 years of experience of presenting at that time and you would've thought it would work well for him on days he was presenting This Morning as the show is recorded in the same studio. If they had Reid and Holmes together, that would be their only real chance of challenging the BBC in the ratings at that time of the morning.

As for Bradders, she'll be a big miss on Countryfile. The ratings for that show have doubled during her time on the programme. I don't think those 2 developments are coincidental. Would think Ellie Harrison will step up to replace her.

Leaving a good establishment for a pile of shit, for double the money. Typical Palace scum.
