Eight of their players got less than five runs each. Even the usually consistent Extras only got six.

To be fair Brown got 41. Adams must be under quite a bit of pressure.

It's going to be difficult to fill The Oval on those sort of performances.....

A friend lives in a flat that overlooks the Oval and he said it was quite a vociferous occasion. Problems on the horizon for Surrey. Only so long you can 'underachieve' despite being one of the richest counties. Clash of big names?

Coach in his first coaching job, captain in first captaincy, big name coaching staff with big name players with board, fans, players all thinking theyre gods gift. Recipe for disaster.

Changes soon you would think. They have a very weird mix of good players and shit players, no balance to their side at all.

Yes, I see. You would think that there is enough pedigree to turn things around quickly. I guess I am being a bit harsh on Adams and cricket management is not a walk in the park.

Rather pleasing to see that they continue to 'steal' our players and then go on to do absolutely nothing. Salisbury, Akram et al.

Adams is going to need some time, but ou can't help but feel he is walking on troubled waters. Afterall, it was his decision to hand RHB the captaincy. Maybe a good Twenty20 run will appease the superiors..?

personally i feel a little sad for adams after all he achieved at sussex. there seems to many big fingers in a very small pie there. long may it continue!

this on the surrey message board tonight not happy bunnys up there in there burrows :lolol::lolol:

The boys on the Ovalworld message board are not happy:

RHB I have not mentioned, because on another post I said that he seems incapable of playing a grafting captains innings,he has no patience and a poor defensive technique, which has not improved since he arrived, although I still think he has the talent. So perhaps I should say he has made one and a half good signings out of four. How can you not be negative, when Adams has a far worse record than either Rixon and Butcher, and we thought they were bad,but neither lost more matches than they won. I think any decent manager would have turned things around before now, we are not even showing any improvement at all. We are the laughing stock of the country depite the large sums of money we have spent.
