Is anyone else a little worried about our lack of signings this year?
Cottey hit some usefull runs last year and we are relying on Ambrose to find his form (after a shocker last year) and Yardy to turn promise and potential into consisitency.

If Prior gets involved in the England set up we could be a few runs short.

And on the bowling side? Untill Rana gets here (and considering Mushy gets about 90% of wickets in the latter stages of the season) we have to hope Lewry. RMJ and esp Kirtley improve dramatically from last year.

Or am i just pessimistic?

Maybe a bit pessimistic.

We do look a bit weak on the bowling side of things, a lot of faith is being put in Yardy. Wright is also an option with the ball. We seems to bat a long way down this year but we do need to find 20 wickets a game from somewhere.

Akram gets Goodwin the TURNCOAT FUCKFACE.

102/3

Once the pitches bake a bit you are going to have Davies in there and the overseas bowler will need a place, so all of a sudden Yardy and Ambrose could be out and our batting does not look as long.

akram is a !!!!

Im not sure about Yards although he bet a mutual friend of ours 50 quid he'd be an England oneday player in 5 years ( that was about 4 years ago though).

i think Ambrose really needs to show this year- i thought he looked better than Prior when they first played but last year he was woefull- if he finds form he has a 1000 runs in him. But as you say- its wickets we need...bring on Rana!!!

120-4 now.

Grizzly gone cheaply.

Still, I remember two years ago, we were 20-4 and ended up losing very narrowly. after Goodwin, Ambrose and Tucker added a few and Mushy threw the bat.

Prior keeping wicket in this game too, probably because he's close the the international set up but possibly to help Ambrose get his form with the bat back?

Yardy's put in a good performance today, along with some typically swift scoring from THE GREAT MATT PRIOR we've ended up 171/4 in a rain affected day

Yardy-y 44
Priory 34

50 partnership up just before STUMPS

i think Prior has to keep wicket every game- the guy is a real prospect who will be an England regular IF we allow him to develop as a keeper not a fielder.

anyway, im happy with todays effort- hundreds from Prior and Yards tommorow and the games ours! tehehe.
