So what Mouldy, who has all but ruined the F1 thread with constant sniping at Lewis Hamilton, that was supposedly ITK (but not) is talking about, is this.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...hange-name-mother-carmen-surname-larbalestier

Subtle as a brick.

Seeing as you want to derail another of my threads, an on going trend.

I will reply.

Perhaps Sir Lewis is doing this for the love of his mother, or maybe it's just another needy love me everyone to those who may get sucked into the vortex of his PR.
What timing too.

Your guess is a good as mine.

Anyway can we keep it to a respectful surname change thread please?

Now that is intriging, can I ask why?

In 1999 I bought Warcraft 2 Battle Net: Edition and was very eager to play so I used smashed the letters to get a Battle.net username and it turned out "Lerkot". I thought it was nice, unique and a bit fantasy so I used it as my username everywhere and when in my early teens when I turned into a bit of a d-celebrity by being a bit of a wonderkid writer (about my home town, football and e-sports mainly) , people would occasionally approach or confront me by my nickname so when I turned 18 I just decided to adopt it as my middle name.

Its quite good because it is always available for me, with the exception of Instagram where some girl took it before me... she looks much better and has a lot more interesting life than me though so I try to just consider it free PR of the Lerkot brand.

Warcraft? Have you ever played Warhammer? You'd be in excellent company.

I overheard my grandfather when I was a kid discussing someone who had been left money in a will on the condition he changed his surname. He said ‘I’d change my name to Walter Shithead for that amount of money”

No we can't because this is you starting another hilarious dig at a black / socially liberal / both sports person. Nothing more, nothing less.

I suggest you change your NSC username to Mr Putdown and ban the Palace fan of that name

Mr Putdown and Loz are probably the only two decent Palace posters on here and I'd rather read either of them 100 times than another tedious and predictable "political not political" thread started by Mouldy.

I avoid responding to anything Mouldy Boots posts, because, well for obvious reasons.

This thread seemed innocent.

I should have trusted my normal instincts.

I wouldn't change mine, it's unique, only my brother and I. Our wives have both taken the name.

My father went single barrelled when he remarried and my mother has reverted to half of her maiden surname, which was quite something in itself.

Perhaps you can explain that diatribe to those of us who simply saw this as a fairly uninteresting thread on which the answer to the OP was 'No'.

A well deserved “dig’ in my opinion. Why announce a name change before it happens, if it does? Simple “look at me” PR by LH - if MV had made the same announcement you’d have been all over it like a rash.

My husband and I both added each other's surname when we got married, so we're now double-barrelled.

That's an unusual surname.

I've met a real Mike Hunt, he was an auditor who used to come into our office.

I used to work with a wonderfully funny (and anarchic) woman called Bethany, who could not resist asking "Has anyone seen Mike Hunt ?" when he was in and then collapse in a fit of giggles.

It was a very very funny place to work, but in the end I had to leave. Half the Dept were off their face half the time, it was a combination of the IT Crowd and Big Train.
