If Poyet leaves us this season i will hate him. He's doing a very good job at the moment but he thinks he is better then he is. If this were Adams/Slade or so on nobody would be making threads like these. Get over it, it's football.

It's pretty obvious that booing was the wrong thing to do but it could be possible at any club in the country after drawing with a pub team. How would Gus' beloved Chelsea crowd react if they drew at home to, say, Burton Albion?

Tottenham fans ironically cheered one of their players on Sunday after he finally managed to pass successfully to another player. And they're enjoying their best season that I can ever remember.

Poyet will hopefully have the sense to realise that whingeing Brighton fans are not much different to any other whingeing fans in the country.

Thing is, what does booing ACTUALLY do?

The players KNOW if they are performing poorly.
Gus KNOWS when things aren't going to plan.

It's not like they think everything's rosy then "Hang on, they're booing! We must change EVERYTHING!"

I get it. You're not happy with the performance. Guess what? Neither is Gus or the players.

It slightly concerns me that "the fans" all seem to get tarnished with the same brush, especially those like me that sit in E block.

I think the booing on Saturday over stepped the mark and is going some way to creating a negative relationship with Gus and amoungst some fans.

Theses booers are in the minority and we need to show them that, I for one feel the need to apologise on behalf of these idiots and show solodarity with Gus for what he is trying to acheive.

If i can find some stuff I might try and make a small banner showing my support, will I be the only one ? :bhasign:

Boo boys stay away. You are a tiny number, but your lack of support is in danger of ruining our best season for years - undermining Gus and the players and seriously pissing off us supporters who would never dream of booing our team. Why not shift your 'support' up the M23 - everyone's a winner!

People pay their money and can chose to boo if they want to. The way to deal with it is to try and put out your best team and win every game rather than take issue with them in the local media. The problem with saturday was that our strikers failed to put away at least 3 good chances, the easiest of which fell to Murray who couldn't lift the ball over the keeper into the empty net.

no 1 should be booing gus, were top of the league and still in the cup for f*** sake come on were all as 1, i no it wernt great on saterday but these things happen against non leaguers, look at the support from fcum they were 1 of the best supported sides iv seen down the withdean, when u go away wiv the albion every game it it f***ing mental why cant we seem to find it at home to realy lift our players even more, i no the little hitlers dont make it easy by keep runing up and down the stairs telling every1 to sit down but if we all make a stand what can they do
We are top of the league but since we played a weak team against Woking, our lead has been cut to 4 pts from 8 and we have had two extra games which we could have done without. Get back to winning ways on Saturday (weather permitting) and you won't hear the boo boys.

FFS - not this same old shite again

Fraid so.

Hopefully no more booing from a small number of fans and no more veiled threats and hissy fits from the manager.

I don't think supporters need to do anything. Poyet simply needs to be able to take the rough with the smooth. Lets not forget, he put out a side that failed to beat a division 8 pub team last weekend. The people to be appreciated were the punters who forked out money for that, not the manager. He'll get his rousing reception when we win again, playing the quality football we've been seeing. I don't mean to sound flippant there, because I firmly believe that day will be Saturday at Fortress Withdean.

Good post.
