The nostalgia for a six-hour build-up to the Cup Final comes from the times when there were only a handful of live games on TV a year so the anticipation levels were so much higher.

I don't know about anybody else but Sky's two hour preview for an ordinary Premiership fixture used to make me want to stick my boot through the TV it was so tedious.

Mine runs through cable (Virgin Media), but I know if you have sky/freeview its a problem that many people have which is pretty shit really.

Anyway now the football league has all finished at least we've got the ashes/T20 World cup to look forward to

Signal used to be a problem but since I have a new HD box the signal has been fine. Will be cancelling the service soon I reckon. No need to keep it.

Setanta is transmitted from Eurobird which is co-located with the Astra birds. When Sky your dish was installed if they didn't get optimum signal and quality strength but pointed it at 28.2 degrees east and latched onto a picture it means that some channels will come in weaker than others. Upgrading from an ordinary box to Sky+ or Sky+HD also creates problems as the lnb has to be changed over , this is heavier which in turn weighs down the lnb arm so the signal isn't focussed properly on the dish. When the dish is properly aligned the signal is ok and will only drop out with the rest of the channels during heavy rain , thunderstorms and snowfall.

It will only be shown live on Setanta. Sky will have guests in the studio talking about the game. BBC will only show brief highlights on the news. ITV will show highlights at 10.30pm. If you dont subscribe to Setanta you can stream it from justin.tv and watch it live on your pc.
