Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Not very exciting, but 3rd game of the season (I think) last year, went down to Roots Hall, watched us outclass them and Forster and Murray completely ran the show between them. Perfect partnership.

Discovered at the final whistle that we were top of the league.

Happy drive home, then suddenly we're driving alongside a big nice-looking bus. Tour bus? Team bus?

We give them a beep. Gary Hart turns around and waves to us, Big Michel gives us a typically FDM fist pump as we signal 2-0 to them.

All of us blissfully unaware of the bleak months ahead.

That was great fun that evening. I still think Revell should have been sent off for trying to snap FDM in two pieces. Possibly too early in the match for the bottling referee. I really thought Forster and Murray were going to be the strikeforce of the division after that show, but alas it was never to be...

Southend away,record amount of arrests at a match circa 1970's.


About 76 I think and it involved the atttack on the nurse onthe way back which made the News at Ten headlines. That was appallinging but great to see we went national.
