I actually like this. It's one of the great things about football that we can all, at times, be so deluded and blinded by love for our club we lose all rationality and can't imagine how anyone else might see it differently. To be in a position where you imagine Potter, who was allegedly approached about the Spurs and Arsenal jobs among others and is having his best season yet, might imagine Sunderland as a step up, is quite special in all the good ways.

If GP does decide over the next month or so that he’s had enough here, which would be totally understandable, I’m sure Sunderland would be his choice over Villa and Everton

Im sure Potter hasnt reached his ' ceiling ' yet !. Europe is calling and when he conquers the Europa league - that is when we will lose him unfortunately. Thats the only thing stopping him getting a top 3/4 job .
That was special on saturday when he orchestrated a hurrah with the north stand --- something us away fans have enjoyed twice this season already !

I think he has a point, if Potter leaves then Brighton will probably return to its historical position around 3rd or 4th division, with occasional seasons in the 2nd tier.

In which case we could always go for Gus Poyet and start all over again.
