Two incidents …. the pathetic claim for a pen handball and the studs onto Botman’s instep …. the VAR bureaucrats would’ve been drooling over them in freeze frame, desperate to give a pen and red card. The ref with total control just relied in his instincts in real time.

I thought it might be. The point is, without VAR ‘might be’ is not good enough - and the higher bar makes the whole thing much more entertaining.
