They were only given 900 tickets . A mate of is a proper Makem . Lives in Hove now. He actually sat with me on Saturday .
He called Sunderland when the tix went on sale and got one picked up by a family member and sent down here. He said from the off that they probably would'nt sell more than 1000 tickets , being 2nd round of the league cup on a Tuesday night and all.
He reckons most will be from their London and South east branch.
On a positive note , he reckons the atmosphere on saturday was on par with anything he has heard at the Stadium of Light , except those games against the Newcastle and M'boro. He made a great point of a small but full stadium having a better atmosphere than a much larger but only three quarters full stadium.
I had to laugh afterwards . Out of 19,000 people , he had to meet the only Brighton supporting Geordie who gave him stick over the lunch time kick off. Brighton shirt , Geordie accent.
