Won 2-0. Our first clean sheet since our first ever game last season. The managers promise of a free pint if we ever kept a clean sheet was honoured as well which was nice. :D

There was one yesterday with the Donny lads, and there is always some sort of football match being planned on Childish Ramblings.

Im sure if it was all going to be done properly then we could get the numbers.

We just need sponsorship and someone to act as a secutary

*notnominatingmyself*

Id be intreseted in playing. There a few good players on here aswell.

If it happenned and people made a commitment to paying the registration fee, there is no reason why we cannot have 30 odd players registered, so surely we will be able to raise a team every week.

Its a shit lot of work Jaz, it would probably take up most of your evenings during the week.

With all respect it will be easier if someone who knows the system to do it as it is bloody complicated.

And i also think they have to be over 18 aswell!

yeah my stepdad used to run our sunday team as well as running the rep squad, there are meetings that need to be attended, scores need to be rung through refs booked etc, away sides need to be contacted to give directions, as Ali said there is a shed load of work, and would possibly suit an older person who would be the teams manager..

My game away to Whitstable Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

And amen to that, as I went shopping instead

Lil' Coach won 4-0 at Falmer Falcon's, scored 2.
Even though our opponents were losing (they had only just started playing matches recently) they were determined - gritty and never let their heads drop.
Thoroughly nice bunch of kids and parents.

How nice it is to hear that. I've seen too many kids games with ultra competitive Dads hanging on, verbally abusing the players and having a go at the officials. Which the kids pick up, along with the diving and cheating they see in the Premiership.

Glad to see there's still some sanity about!

I know what you mean - a couple of weeks ago one opposition parent was screaming at his kid to 'take 'im down' 'kick him'!
Every team can have it's bad apples - we've been very lucky to come across them few and far between. All our kids and parents are nice.

In a pile of football shirts
I'm trying something new on www.oldfootballshirts.com , Sunday League and County League shirts, see the menu down the left of the home page.

What is the consensus? Will you add your Sunday League shirts?
