It's because many on NSC are total and utter snobs masquerading as Socialists, the only Socialist thing about them is where they place their X every election, they then satisfy themselves that they've shown concern for 'the poor' and 'social inequality. and then return to their oh so middle class lives.
I think you're conflating Sun readers with the working class. As a self identifying middle class socialist myself, I've got no problem with cheap holidays, or indeed spending my free time with the working class. But if this offer means spending time with apes drooling over the 'cracking norks on this one' whilst opining on how you can't say anything 'these days', you can count me out.

Holiday with a load of Sun readers. Terrifying.

Well at least we know where not to go.

I went on one of these in 1992, the owners to the place in Devon said on checkout, never ever again....

We did this when we stayed in a gite south west of Rouen. Never again. Took us hours and hours and everywhere was shut (it was a Saturday afternoon and we struggled to find somewhere open for lunch). On the way back to the Channel Tunnel, we used the toll roads, took us half the time. I'd rather pay a little bit more, use less petrol and actually not be knackered when I get to where I'm going.

Horses for courses.

Fair comment. To be honest they (Sun holidays) are what you make them. You don't have to spend much time at the actual site, nothing to stop you going into town for example. At the actual site, from what I've seen is mainly families with young children.

As previously said we use them as a base to sleep, shower and have a cuppa in the morning then go off out. If they have a bar we may use that when we get back when wife doesn't have to drive.

Love all the posters on here looking down at people simply because they take advantage of a cheap holiday opportunity.

We’ve used it for several years to have a 5 day break with our dogs as they don’t accompany us on our summer holidays.

It’s in Cornwall, the accommodation is a ground floor, two bedroom, well appointed apartment with few neighbours. Views from front and back are stunning, 200 acres to walk the spaniels and a fantastic 200 year old estate lake to fish.

About £80 for us and the dogs.

Not looking down on it at all........it was just probably the worst holiday experience we’ve had and I don’t think it was a complete coincidence.

We’ve had loads of other holidays at similar sites (Haven, Butlins, Warners etc and some more privately run places), but for those we just did a bit of research and were able to choose accommodation type, location etc. The Sun deals seem to be flogging off unused capacity at the arse-end of the worst sites in the less attractive accommodation. I’d possibly do it again but would do a lot more research beforehand.............

It's because you are not a patronising elitist snob like some on here who resort to insults / bans if you dare to disagree with them.

I thought that was more the 50-something male Tory voter on here who got up to those shenanigans, not the champagne socialists you referred to. The stench of blue on here can be quite overwhelming at times, and I’m not talking Albion blue neither!

Fair enough, although I think the stench of Red can be overwhelming, but I guess that's what a chat forum is all about.

It's our moderators who ban people not other posters. There is a set order for warnings and bans as approved by the moderators.
I don't think our moderators are patronising elitist snobs, in fact, they seem to be from a wide political spectrum.

Maybe it was you crossing the line?

Moderators are still posters.

It's all a matter of opinion I guess.

Not sure whether you've considered it, but you can get a ferry from Portsmouth direct to Saint Malo. It's about 9 hours, but pretty comfortable, less driving French side and no toll roads. I have done it, and it is just about bearable, if you take a bumper edition sudoku book!

The view from the lounge window of the apartment I was referring to in my original post.

That’s some arse end of a site! :D
