Baleba cost £23.2m, more than half as much again as Bissouma to become Brighton's second most expensive player ever. Contextually, that's why expectations are rather higher than they were for Bissouma.

Football inflation. Bissouma’s £15m 6 years ago was at a time when Salah cost £37m.

£15m was a big investment.

Jesus christ, we've just lost to the champions elect with the aid of some dubious officials and with a plethora of long term injuries and all of sudden fans want to get rid of players that, without the injuries, would be good squad players. Talk about knee jerk reactions.
Looks like not only did Chelsea plunder our staff and players, they also infected our fans with SEV (Stamford-bridge entitlement virus)

Stuttgart are 18 points ahead of the club in 6th place and it was said after the English clubs crashed that the Bundesliga will have 5 CL clubs next season. We can assume Undav will want that rather than PL lower mid table fare.

And if we can get the reported €20m release clause it will be one hell of a bit of business by us. Paid c £6m for him.

We might like one but I don’t think we will.

If Welbeck is staying and Ferguson is expected to be fit and firing, we’ll have those two + Pedro.

It’ll be lower down the priority list than at least 3 other positions I’d say.

The midfield has to be the prority but Pedro is not an out and out number 9. Welbeck, unfortunately, is injured a lot. Regardless of whether or not Ferguson comes good again next season, we all hope that happens of course, all three of them have had long periods this season when they've been injured, and we've seen what's happened, the goals dried up. So think we do need another option. Suspect the difficulty will be persuading that person to come and probably start on the bench, which is of course why Undav went as he didn't want to do that.
Massive summer ahead, let's see what happens.

Midfield is definitely a priority.

I haven't seen much mention of a central defender being a priority.
Somehow we've managed to keep JPvH and Dunk fit for most of the season (Dunk missed a few games).
Webster looks although he was engineered at the Darren Anderton School of hard knocks and I'm not sure that Igor, Pervis or Veltman are suited to central defending.
Therefore my hope would be to sign a quality ball playing central defender.
Hopefully a shithouse from Italy or Argentina to provide us with some flair and an opportunity for a creative song or two.

So in summary:
  1. a quality central defender
  2. an experienced midfielder (to replace Groß whenever that sad day comes)
  3. and a right back please Tony.
(plus a fit Mitoma)

Reports linking Mitoma to The Arse, Man City and Utd. If the offer is big enough the inevitable will happen so another possibly needs replacing

Stuttgart have already said that because the clause has risen to €20M (it was dependent on goals) they can’t afford him

Agree about the need for another centre half. We have missed Colwill's pace.

Agree with most of that. But not sure I see Stuttgart stumping up the cash for Undav now. & would like us to have a proper look at Leonard in pre season.

Get one decent established keeper, play every week. Gilmour is not the answer to our woeful midfield so yep, he’s not for the long run IMO. Not bad but…
Gilmour has been our best centre mid this season. Yes we should be investing some quality in that position, but Gilmour will definitely be here next season at least as first back up to whoever we bring in. Bart is young, room for improvement, but is getting better game by game. We might bring in an experienced keeper, but Bart is the long term future.
