The Italian FA have out done themselves yet again

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39786264

Whilst technically correct that Muntari left the field of play without permission, which is a mandatory yellow card it is ok only a handful of people were racist so Italian fans are all allowed to shout racist abuse providing they are only in groups of 10 or less than 1% of the crowd.....

Meopham, Kent.
UEFA / FIFA now have a chance to show their commitment to kicking out racism by issuing some sanction to the Italian FA over this.

Spot the really smart blue and white striped Errea shirts. They're even the Dolphins, as we should be, we wouldn't have to change a thing.

Muntari banned for one game.

Good to see the FIGC have got a firm hold on this problem.

Bloody awful, surely the sane response would be to rescind the yellow/ban (I don't blame the ref for giving it to him, rock and hard place) and punish the offending club, regardless of the number of 'fans' involved.

It's the only way you'll encourage clubs to ban the knuckle dragging morons.

I think he'd be a very good signing, won't command much of a fee, strong athletic midfield player who is naturally left footed.

Madness and unfortunately not an isolated incident in Italian football this weekend.

i was reading on sky sports that 3 or 4 other clubs had partial stadium bans placed on them because of the racism this weekend. The majority of 7,000 in one stand at Milan were done for it.

oh - the stadium bans are suspended for a year, obviously they wouldn't put an actual punishment on them. I wonder if that would have even been give to them if the Muntari story hadn't got global coverage

Garth Crooks calls for black players in Italy to strike

Ex-Tottenham striker Garth Crooks says "every self-respecting black player" in the Italian league should strike this weekend unless Sulley Muntari's one-match suspension is withdrawn.

Pescara midfielder Muntari, 32, was banned after he protested against racist abuse he received from the crowd during Sunday's Serie A match at Cagliari, which earned him a yellow card for dissent before he walked off.

Italy's football chiefs were branded "gutless" by anti-discrimination organisation Kick It Out.
"Those with power in Italy need to take action to stop this happening again," Kick It Out tweeted.
In a fuller statement on its website, the organisation added: "Garth Crooks, an independent Kick It Out trustee, is calling for every self-respecting black player in the Italian League to not play this weekend unless the Italian authorities withdraw the ban on Sulley Muntari.

"It's unbelievable that Cagliari escaped punishment as 'only 10' fans were involved. This situation should never be allowed to happen again."

Ex-Ghana international Muntari was cautioned for dissent after asking the referee to stop the match, and then walked off in protest - which earned him a second yellow card for leaving the field of play without permission.
