Ok, I cede to certain songs for the writings, quite naturally.

But they couldn't sing or play for crap.

I do adore 'With a little help from my friends, and The Wets did it properly.

At the most, Two of the flop topped Scouse tinny boy band, wrote some beautiful stuff, but they played them dreadfully.

The Beatles were crap.

I'd argue that Aussie band Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel trumps Joy Division in the grim department, than again maybe not. New Order was also a tasteless successor to Joy Division.

There was a punk band who played at the Shelley Arms in Nutley circa 1992/3 who, on the night (but not in the listings) called themselves 'The Isotonic Abortions'.... Ive never forgot that. Nasty
