If that's the only punishment she's been given then its not enough. At the very least they should take her driving license away too.

20 weeks suspended for 2 years, 3 year ban, extended retest, 12 months supervision. She'll find it hard to get insurance once she gets her license back.
Hardly getting off scot free.

The BBC article didn't say anything about that, and still, not nearly enough. The only punishment of merit is the driving ban. The justice system is far too soft in this country.

Could do, if the family believe that her stupidity may have cost the life of the patient in the ambulance...that is to say delaying their arrival at hospital and full medical care!

I don't think it's whether the family believe she caused her death but whether the medics do. As far as I am aware from previous reports, the delay had no effect. I am sure if it had, she would have been charged with a more serious offence.

Unfortunately there are twats like this all over the shop.

I used to work in A&E and some of the f***ing bellends we got in there turned me into a proper cynic about the British public.

"Avery was laughing as she blocked the ambulance, the court heard"

Saw it on the local news. She and her partner and friend were still laughing outside the court, after the hearing.

Regarding the 3 year ban, she complained that "people get less than that for killing people". She just doesn't get it, does she?

I don't know why her partner wasn't also prosecuted, as he was also laughing and "making hand gestures" at the ambulance driver.

the smug bitch should be charged with manslaughter...

But she wasn't *actually* responsible for the death. Not that she could have known that at the time.

She might have hazarded a guess that an ambulance with blues and twos going was either on its way to an emergency or en-route to the Hospital with one on board...either way, what a fuckwit.

She was "suffering from stress" at the time, apparently. Of course, laughing is a good way to relieve stress.

Still a fuckwit.

Hmm, there's an A.Avery in telephone directory for Leicester, even gives address.

A Avery

I've hidden some important details - but if someone wanted to call her up, and discuss her behaviour (whilst witholding their own number of course) the information is out there isn't it?
