I know I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but can we sign a player out of contract?
Clutching at straws maybe, but would hope we're looking at the possibility.:bowdown:

The way our season has gone we could sign two world class strikers and I doubt they'd fit into the team and save our season tbh. Much like fate took a big hand in the 2nd Championship, fate has had us on a relegation course for most of the season.

Relegation is meant to be

We can sign someone who is out of contract, yes.
But if he's effectively not got a club, it doesn't suggest he'd be much cop does it.

Wasn't Birchal without a club? I thinks he's quality.

I think we can only sign players now, who were without a club before the transfer window closed. Even if there are a few about, I doubt they would be up tp scratch and would not have played for 2 months...

I'd give him about 4/10 for his contribution to our season.

In terms of his contribution I’d probably go for less than 4/10 but on the occasions where he has played centrally I think he’s looked good. This season though I don’t think anyone’s has been able to shine for us, with the exception of perhaps Forster and Whing. I mean Savage comes on loan, looks distinctly average then goes back to Derby under Clough straight back into first team football! I think we could have got Teves on loan this season and still been up shit creak.

Akinbiyi was released this week by Burnley to sign for Houston Dynamos. So we wouldn't be able to sign him anyway (as he wasn't a free agent before the start of the window).

But I have a feeling that the window for even free transfers closes at the same time as the loan market.
