Fact, so he wasnt the first choice during that season as you stated.

Firly, I didn't state a case for any season... secondly, how many games did he play that season, how many did Carthorse play?

He (Kuipers) was a major part of 2 of our 3 relatively recent promo seasons... now fcuk off...

I just can't understand the negative views re one of our best keepers (FDM)... OK, Roberts was his match, but even he had some shaky games... Henderson was a clown... wake up people...

Sullivan HAS done well, but I would expect Kuipers to regain his place when fit...

I believe that Kuipers is adequate for this team and this division but we do not need to sign another keeper as Sullivan is progressing very well and if he is not No1 now it wont be very long before he is or is snapped up by some other team.

Whilst there is plenty of binfestery going on re Kuipers, does anyone have any further info on the actual subject title of this thread?

I agree with all that, and think Sullivan IS now first choice. People are just objecting to you trying to rewrite history to demean Kuipers past achievements.

I am BG not The Complete Badger so do not drool over what he has done in the past and am more inclined to quote MA to me at my pub, ' that is what he is paid for'.

In my opinion, Kuipers is a much better goalkeeper than Sullivan. I do think Sullivan is slightly over-rated.

Maybe there are negative views of Kuipers on here because of the idiotic way some of his fans treat anyone who dares to compete with him. Roberts was a far better keeper when fit and still got criticised. I think Henderson was also better (he certainly wasn't a clown) but idiots like you hounded him out of the club and jumped on his every mistake (because obviously Kuipers never made any).

I rate Kuipers but the attitude of his worshippers who won't hear of him not being first choice irritates me. Lets hope the same does not happen to Sullivan if he stays as number one when Kuipers is fit.

I really rate Kuipers but it doesn't cloud my judgement on other goal-keepers. I thought Henderson was a good kepper and couldn't believe the stick he got which eventually ended up as abuse! The way he was treated was disgusting. However I do think Kuipers should be first choice between him and Sullivan.

 Don't be silly - that'd mean that the Pro/Anti Kuipers would have to find somewhere else to prattle on about a debate that's gone on too long.

Alot of this stems from when McGhee was in charge and there generally seems to be a split amongst most Albion fans. Whether it be

1. Those who wanted McGhee to go (who wanted Wilkins to stay and want Adams to leave)
2. Those who wanted McGhee to stay (who wanted Wilkins to go and want Adams to stay)

The whole debate about Kuipers first came about when Henderson was first choice keeper as a small minority actually thought he was good and who love to slag off Kuipers at every oppurtunity they get.

Perhaps we should play Kuipers up front when he comes back from injury and leave Sullivan in goal therefore keeping everyone happy

*the following STATS are completely MADE UP, as I am too lazy to look, but;

With Kuipers in goal this season, we've won TWO of about SEVENTEEN league games.

With Sullivan in goal, we've won THREE of SIX.

I'm not saying everyone is like that but there is a fair minority who gave Henderson (and even Roberts) stick, the worst occasion being at Bournemouth a couple of seasons back when he made a late mistake and got booed off. That kind of behaviour made me embarassed to be a Brighton fan.

I agree that Kuipers should probably come back in when fit due to his experience, especially if we are battling relegation, but I disagree that Sullivan is over rated. I think he looks a real prospect for the future.

That's impressive, you try to sum it up in an unbiased way but end up slagging off Henderson, who was and is good. Lets look at it rationally when Kuipers was out of the team all he got was loan moves to Boston and I think Hull. Henderson was dropped and within a couple of weeks had moved to Preston in the Championship.

I don't want to slag off Kuipers but this irrational hatred of Henderson by some fans annoys me. Why can't we now (and couldn't we then) be happy we have two good keepers and support them both whichever one plays?

I think you're missing a reasonable chunk of fans who wanted McGhee to stay, then wanted Wilkins to stay and now want Adams to stay because they realise that changing proven managers too quickly is bad for the club.

Much as I like Kuipers as a keeper please remind me how many times he has played for his country - usually a measure of how good a player is, especially if it's a reasonable sized European country.

What an obscue view, on what makes a good keeper at this level!

One thing I do think was that if Kuipers was as good as people on here think he wouldn't be playing for us anymore...

A decent League 1 stopped no doubt, but not the second coming people on here make him out to be.

I'd be quite happy if Adams stuck with Sullivan.
