i didnt go to lewes but for some reason i can maybe see this foreign signing paying off this season. he seems a lot more experienced than molango was, having actually played in the argentinian premiership or whatever and i'm sure he's played at a decent level for other clubs. he cannot be a bad player, so maybe we should just go for it.

mcghee obviously sees something in him. he's not just getting someone for the sake of it. i also think he saw something in molango and jarrett as well and seeing as they're on long-term deals, they still have a role to play IMHO

Sorry but McGhee saw something in MacCammon, nobody else has,

Hang on - he's only played against Lewes so far, and we're drawing up a contract already ? We've got 3 more friendlies yet havn't we ? Even if he'd played a BLINDER at the Dripping Pan, I'd have thought MM would've been hanging back a bit before signing him up.

This doesn't make a lot of sense at the moment. Anyone know word-for-word what the SeagullsWorld report is saying ?

Meanwhile McGhee revealed he hopes to tie up a deal with Federico Turienzo, who played in the 4-2 win over Lewes on Sunday, but had to return to Italy straight afterwards.

The Albion boss now hopes the Argentinian striker will return in time for Saturday's friendly with Colchester United.

"We hope he will be back in time for Saturday and that we can do a deal with him, which we plan to do," McGhee said.

Maybe it was McCammon's latest display of ineptitude at Bognor that's prompted MM to bring him back. :glare:

By the way what odds on Iwelumo scoring against us for Chesterfield? ???

It's not on Seagulls World. It's just in the news article about the youth doing well.

McGhee is quoted as saying he's hoping to do a deal when the guy gets back from Italy.

Still he might have tore the place up in training for all we know so lets trust Mcghee eh?
When did he train then? He came straight from Gatwick to Lewes on Sunday and then went back to Italy after the game!
Surely with the Virgo money we could pick up an experienced forward from this country.

I'd rather we went out and bought a known quantity rather than take another gamble on a unkown foreign player. Then again maybe MM knows something we don't! It would be interesting to find out how this bloke ended up having a trial at the club. Have we got a South American scouting network :lolol:

How strong is the Argentine Premier Division?

There must be something to him for him to even be over here!

maybe mcghee realises there are bigger priorities elsewhere in the team such as left wing, defence now virgs has gone and possibly another keeper. getting this lad means that he thinks he is good enough and also we avoid competition from other clubs. thats the problem with getting a decent experienced striker in the english leagues, we can't compete with many other clubs.

Chappers will not be happy with you suggesting that their could be some cash from the Virgo deal. How proposterous of you.

maybe we are going to pay 500k for blayney so we need a cheap striker?

We are not doing on the cheap because DK has ring fenced money for the squad, he said so.

I'm not saying that there will not be any I just think money is better spent, at the moment, ensuring the club is financially sound.

League position still takes a back seat for me until Falmer. Being in this division is no more than a bonus to me presently.

Is that why you follow Spurs then?

By "financially sound" i assume you mean the day to day running of the club. I have every faith in DK to deakl with that. The wage bill has been reduced drastically compared to this time last year, we are geetting 2,000 extra seats soon, DK has looked at our costs and cut back accordingly. Therefore why are we not allowed to invest in people on the pitch? the coke money wasn't planned, nor was the spurs game, or the sales of Harding and Virgo. Surely this means we have more money than anticipated.

By the way who your the magificent seven?

Hang one, I'm not saying we've rebuilt the squad that but I don't think it's that weak compared to last year.
Blackwell hadn't played for months when he was let go, same with Rodger.
McGhee has brought Hammond through the youth team into the first team set up so there's another squad member for you.

Tedium setting in now.

What exactly do you want me to explain?
