Before viewer votes
Lisa & Brendon 3 points
Rachel & Vincent 3 points
Tom & Camilla 1 point

Viewer winner gets 3 points, 2nd 2, loser 1, so the max Tom could get is 4 the least either girl could get is 4 the other 5.

It is fixed for Cry Baby to win.

Anyone who cares enough about this stuff to actually vote, and despite all the previous fixes is STILL under the impression that its not rigged in some way, is a mug.

A MUG

That fix wasn't very well fixed was it?

I gave up with this show when Sargeant was forced out. If the people can't decide who wins, whats the point.

Well, it was fixed to be dramatic and shocking, clearly. I mean, they make it mathmatically impossible for him to win, then despite all numerical logic, he takes the title.

I haven't watched at all; can someone confirm this? Has someone won who couldn't possibly win? Are we in for yet ANOTHER week of pointless newspaper articles about the BBC's phone in cock ups?

This is bollocks you miseries. Its not aimed at football fans, its aimed at the general population!

Tom was the popular vote, whereas Rachel was by far the best dancer...therefore the suggestion that it was a popularity contest is exactly right.

I thought tonight was a fantastic show, brilliant to see past winners and trying to have a go at some of the dances they attempt, it gives you some idea of just how difficult it is to do some of them.

At the end of the day, if you dont like it, you wont have to watch on Christmas Day, or next September when it all starts again.

I don't know. I'm just going by the initial post. If the most the guy could get was 4 points, and the least the two girls could get was 4 (which would result in the other girl getting 5) how could he possibly win?

I haven't actually watched it. I don't get the appeal. "Oh look, it's celebrities... and they're dancing!! How entertaining! I've always wanted to see that Rachel Stevens (former pop star who used to dance in all her videos) dance" :bla: :tumble:

Don't agree...Strictly Come Dancing has never been aimed at the general population. It's aimed at the middle to upper classes who've got nothing else to think about on a Saturday night.

It was bollocks when it first went on air and it's bollocks now and why anyone wants to rot their brains watching stupid tossers fart about in a posh suit and frock is beyond me...what actually makes it worse is that the "expert judges" are the most hideous creatures ever to walk this planet. They make Ian Ormondroyd, Ian Dowie & Peter Beardsley look like a super model cat walk show!

How can anybody possibly complain about the result, fixed though it obviously was?

By FAR the most shocking part of the show tonight was when somebody decided to let Bruce Forsyth sing a number on stage. WHY do they keep indulging the senile old tosser??

Her couldnt sing when he compered Sunday Night at the London Palladium some 40 years ago and hasnt improved with age.

Wish I knew the answer to your first question as the BBC are treating voters as idiots which perhaps they are.

Couldn't agree more, he was appalling singing, should stick to the puns. Dodgy toupee apart, he does look very good for his age though and has definately grown into his face, as a younger man he just looked odd, like a cross between Jimmy Hill and a fox.

Tom Chambers was clearly the most popular (he won the popular vote last week) and if you had to judge it on their final dances then his was by far the best.

Wouldnt disagree with any of that but he was so far behind the 2 girls in both last weeks semi final and this weeks first part according to the judges who are experts who you expect to know about dancing.

The BBC should either accept that it is not a dance competition but a popularity contest, and scrap the judges votes as they are immaterial and the voting public do not take their proffessional advice. Or scrap the public vote and have the winner picked by the judges based on technical ability if it is meant to actually be a contest for the best dancer or alternatively scrap the show as a contest and thus not trick people into parting with money for voting.

But it's both and it seems to work pretty well. The judges have enormous power in the first 2/3rds of the competition. In this series anyone of tonights finalists could have been voted off by them but they elected to keep them in.

But at the end of the day this is a tv show that is meant to be popular and so it is right that the audience gets the final vote just like in shows like x-factor. Short of a few extra quid in terms of appearance fees noone actually wins anything by winning strictly. It's a bit of fun that makes GREAT tv. If you took either the judges or the tv audience votes away it wouldn't be as fun.

Why not scrap the dancing, scrap the judges AND scrap the public vote?

And then put something worthwhile on the telly on Saturday nights.
