That Danelectro is an odd looking thing - sounds good though....

For me its Gibson/Epiphone all the way

Indeed it does, as has been desribed itsa bit toy town, but if its god enough for Jack Bruce its god enough for me

Guild has been re-homed (James MOrrisons guitar tech bought it!)

1972 Gibson Les Paul Triumph bass
1990 Rickenbacker 4003s fireglow
1964 Gibson EB2D
Danelectro longhorn (new, couldn't find or afford an original

won't have a fender bass in the house . . .dull

Strats are the lowest common denominator . . .even Hendrix had better guitars

Wow! That is a seriously beautiful finish. Generally speaking I have always preferred strats to play (very badly I must admit), but I am a sucker for sunburst and tiger stripe finished strats. View also get better with age. GAry Moore has beautiful 58 with
is one of his main guitars. Dave MUrray from iron maiden also has a sweet les Paul heritage with a quilted flame top.

I have no "axe to grind' so I'll go Strat because it was good enough for Jimi, upside down and all, who i consider the best guitarist ever.......

If I'd ever had the dosh I'd have loved a Gibson SG. Still, my Gordon Smith (not the same Gordon Smith!) did pretty well - had something of the feel of an SG, but sounded more like a telecaster

Tough one, Slowhand played a strat, Jimi Played a strat, Prince really rocks when he has his Tele.
Gibson's have a great sound too- but more bluesey?
Rickenbacker with Townsend, Lennon and Weller!!!

Geetars is just geetars, it's what you do with them, shirley?

If you get onto the subject of amps as well it makes it even more complex

12 string Rickenbacker is a joy to the ear but only for certain things.

as amps go . . . Orange, Vox AC30 or even fender, as long as its all valve.
