Strange spam

I've just received the following email.

Clearly this is spam, I have not applied for any jobs and the 'offer' contains no hint as to what the job actually is. It's not difficult or complicated though, apparently.

My question is this: What exactly are they trying to get from me here? Of the information they've asked, none of it is particularly private (and they obviously already know my name!)

They'll probably give you a call and ask you to send a sum of money for your training materials for the one month training period, which - of course - will be refunded to you when you start work.

And then another call, asking you to send some more for the DVD, then for the contract of employment, then for the <ad nauseum> until you get fed up sending money.

I agree that it's a very elaborate way to get very little info. I've received quite a few of these over the years but never one that's been personally addressed.

I think he knows its spam he's just asking the question about what are they trying to achieve.

Spam usually is a) for laughs b) to get some personal details to use for nefarious purposes.

I'd say they are collecting phone numbers to avoid TPS...

Think any response you gave would then lead to phone calls, as suggested above, to request money and also to 'confirm' your address so they can 'post out your contract' or the like
