Purely hypofettikal like.............

but how many straight defeats would it take from this point for Deano to get the boot. I`m not against him but was wondering how many reverses DK would accept.
Was it 12 or 13 with Hinsh ?

I believe it was 13, with a win against Bradford ending the losing streak?

I think if we lost 5 on the trot then Wilkins would get the sack, seeming fans are already doubting Wilkins' ability.

If we lose one more game then I think that the board should resign, and Wilkins. Then Mr Gold can come and pump billions into the club, MA will come back and Falmer will be built by the start of next season, just in time for our inaugural season in the Premiership. :jester:

Oh sorry am I stealing bhafc's thunder?

Hinsh lost 10 league games on the spin and one League Cup game.

The next 2 defeats on that 12 match losing run in the league were under Coppell.

Ah ok, I knew it was around that anyway!

10 games was about right in that instance - New manager, new league and all that.

I reckon another 5 defeats in a row and he'll be gone but we're too good to lose the next 5 in a row.

I think he will go if we lose the next 2 and the crowd is below 5,000 against bristol rovers and we then dont win the game

It won't be long I am sure.

He didn't want to manage us in this league beforehand, so why would he now? Because he has not got a better offer of work. Why?

Vulture, I am not sure about Allen. We need a bit of stability and I would think he is keen to get back to a club in the bigger leagues. Why was he sacked from Leicester? Is he a difficult man to work with? Can we afford to clear out the coaching staff? I would rather money is spent on players as opposed to sacking the coaching staff.

I honestly think that Deano is doing a fair job and we would not be promotion contenders under any manager. He is in the process of building a team and at the moment, finances dictate that we are having to use square pegs for round holes. He deserves longer and should have this season at least, unless we are in real danger of facing relegation. We haven't been trahsed this season and we have been slightly unlucky on the odd occasion (Crewe? Gillingham and the penalties?).

BoF - I don't think, from what I read, that NSC is the place for this kind of balanced, well written argument.......:)

Bof,see where you are coming from. But Wilkins for me has some things he has to address.
1)View the game from the dug-out
2)Stop slagging off the players after the game
3)Play our best team and dont change a winning team
4)Be more postive.
I think Martin Allen would be a gamble but he could do the sort of things a certain other manager by the name of Adams done for this club

didnt last season we have lots of runs where we lost a few on the bounce?

Lets wait a few years to see how good he is...after all he is learning his trade and financially I would have thought going up would not be advisable.....so long as he keeps us up until Falmer we will be happy

I am not really sure DW is totally to blame. It is not his fault that at Gillingham we were woeful.....the players must take a proportion of the blame......the first half against Yeovil we were shite and again its not his fault.

I think without financing the team in a major way we are going to struggle whoever is in charge. Therefore I dont see the point in chan ging it!

You say If crowds drop below 5000, I recon that will come if we lose the next two games!

I wouldn't mind him staying there for the first half. To be fair, it is a pretty poor view from the running track and if he feels that he can get something out of it, then that is good news. Although our second half performances at home have been much better in general than the first half performances, so perhaps it is working? He is able to relay his musings at half time? Maybe it would help to have him on the touchline. I don't know.

I don't think it is slagging off as such, but getting them to accept personal responsibility so they can learn from it. Maybe it should be kept behind closed doors. I am not sure how the players feel about it.

Sticking with the best team is a good point, although I feel that we have quite a few bit part players and we do not necessarily have a clear favourite in every single position.

For years he has been involved in football that is designed around performance and personal improvement ahead of results, now he needs results ahead of performance.
