Severe weather warnings - Brighton Hove City Council
Severe weather warnings
Thursday 15 and Friday 16 December
The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning which affects Brighton & Hove.
On Thursday 15 and Friday 16 December high winds are expected across the county. The council is working to keep people and property safe and keep the city’s transport system moving during any severe weather.
The seafront is expected to be worse affected and it is recommended to avoid it where possible during Thursday and Friday. Due to a high tide and strong winds, warnings of flood and wind damage have been issued to seafront businesses and we are helping them to prepare where possible.
We are asking for people with beach huts and boats on the seafront to please check and secure them before and after any heavy winds.
All residents are advised to secure outdoor objects which could move such as bins and recycling boxes, plant pots and garden furniture.
