I've two friends driving down from Stoke, staying overnight
on the Sunday in town and then driving back late up to Stoke on Monday after
the match.

They tried to get stadium parking - but it had sold out. What is their
best option for getting back up to Stoke re: park'n'ride or other options?
I imagined Mill Hill would be the best.

I've always used the trains so would be grateful for any help here.

Mill Hill also the smallest so fills up very quickly. Personally I've used the Uni before as it is big and pretty easy to get away from.

Ta Springal.

Is that Mithras house?

No, I think he meant Sussex Univ. Mithras House is Univ of brighton down the Lewes road by the old Alan West factory. I use Mithras House and provided you get there a good hour prior to KO, then there is no problem. afterwards they can then go on down the Lewes Road, direction of the stadium, and turn left at the Coldean lights for the A27 and then the A23 at Patcham.
If you are in the car with them, why not get them to park anywhere in Westdene, and then they can walk over the small green to Mill Road P&R. Then a quick getaway down the A27 hill, and on to the A23 and off.
Hope this helps.

Could also drive to Lewes and get the train in from there ?

That is what I would do as it is easy to get away from when you get off the train at Lewes. A quick road through to the A23/M23 via Haywards Heath by 1030 they will be well on their way to Gatwick. Going up Coldean Lane is a nightmare.

Yes it can be slow and might take 7 or 8 minutes to reach the top but hardly a nightmare.

Personally, I'd park in Lewes and get the train from there.

On the occasions where I've driven due to rail problems or improvement works, I've never had a problem getting out of Lewes in the car quickly after the game.

Tell them to stock up on goodies for the trip home. They might have the munchies.

Mithras House P&R then head back to The Amex and pick up the A27/A23/M23. Not sure why you'd want to head back to Lewes. Should be fairly quiet as its evening game.

If they do park and Ride, tell them to
LEAVE EARLY
so as to get on the first wave of buses - probably about half way through the second half.

(that should annoy a few on here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
