If we get to 5-0 up, I'm sure Alex O'Neil will start having nightmares circa Oct 2016...

Countering all the negative comments: (someone has to!)

I thought it was a good first half from Brighton (ignoring some sloppy passing). Of course I’m very pleased to see my boy Facu starting 🙂 and looking happiest when he’s running into space with the ball - would like to see him tackling ( but he’s won back possession a few times by picking up second balls). Sarmiento is the big surprise for me, especially in his 1v1’s - I think I’ve underrated him previously. I love Steele tonight too - looking super confident to me playing out from the back and really involved - Dunky has been brilliant/coordinating the game at the back (forgiving his awful passing at times) especially getting us through Stoke’s high, aggressive pressing. De Zerbi plays a tense style of football inviting such a high press at times - I felt nervous all through that first half even with us having nearly 80% of possession.

Too many touches. Nervy at the back. Dunk very poor despite a beautiful pre-assist. Caicedo is a monster. Buononotte looks a touch lightweight so far especially compared to Ferguson who is the same age. But a goal to the good!

Not sure Lamptey is really cut out for the one-touch passing around the back play - seems to get caught out quite a lot. In fact, we seem to be playing two-touch rather than one-touch stuff a lot, which is slowing down our normal break speed.

Dunk may have set up the goal but he’s having a bit of a mare, much too casual
I don’t think any other team has resourced a press as much as this. We teeter on the edge of disaster all the time. It’s not the best for a dicky ticker. I’m sure Stoke will run out of steam in the end and we’ll end up fairly comfortable.

We desperately miss left footed players. You can't have a whole team of right footed players and play one touch football all over the pitch. Eventually someone's going to have to readjust, turn back etc.

I’m watching a different game to those praising Sarmiento. Sure he’s got all the tricks but he’s lost the ball too many times and slows the play down too much. Too many touches and no final ball in this game for me.
