FAC Rd 2 against Torquay. Does anyone else feel our 3rd round tie will not go ahead on 2nd Jan, especially if there is a replay to this fixture?
Fine them, for bad weather?
Sale Sharks have got a game against Harlequins at Edgeley Park on Friday 1 January (k.o 5.30pm). I can't imagine that will help the ground get into good shape.
No, just use some of the money that they get from the egg chasers to either buy some decent covers or get some additional groundsmen/help in.
So if they do beat Torquay, the chances of us playing there on the 2nd are pretty poor.
Er, I believe that these days, the ground is not theirs. I.e. They are the rugby club's tenants, rather than the other way round.
Apologies, didn't realise that was the case.
Therefore if there are two games at Edgeley Park over the weekend, (e.g.1st/2nd Jan) and the pitch will only be up to one game, it will be the Rugby that goes ahead.
At leasst we'll be in the draw for the 4th Round!
Would they do that for a league game? Or is this a special privilege that only applies to the world's most famous football tournament (or at least the most famous tournament involving Stockport County)? The likelehood is the game will be moved to the Sunday or Monday evening for the pitch to recover should they beat Torquay.
This shows the stupidity of playing rugby and football at the same ground.
At least Bristol Rugby and Wasps play on sundays AFTER any football.
