FAC Rd 2 against Torquay. Does anyone else feel our 3rd round tie will not go ahead on 2nd Jan, especially if there is a replay to this fixture?

The 3rd round tie is up as postponed on Stockport's website. There is only one free midweek for Stockport and I presume Torquay are already playing that day.

Just checked that, they should be able to play next Tuesday. Neither have a game that mid week.

even when they do play it will INEVITABLY be a draw and require a replay in devon

At this rate we'll be in the draw for the FIFTH round.

What a joke. That's their third consecutive match at Edgeley Park postponed now.Could the FA fine them if this keeps happening?

Chances of seeing in the new year for a few days on the English Riviera are receding week by week.:(

Hopefully our match will be pay on the day if there is a winner next week. The thought of having to post for tickets right slap bang in the Christmas and holiday season and to get them delivered by the 2nd Jan - would cause a big risk of not getting the tickets on time!

Hopefully the tie is played next week in the cheshire area, preferably at edgely park as im in that area anyway and have a hotel booked for a couple of days. Dont want it at Plainmoor as torquay would go and win it

No, just use some of the money that they get from the egg chasers to either buy some decent covers or get some additional groundsmen/help in.

Er, I believe that these days, the ground is not theirs. I.e. They are the rugby club's tenants, rather than the other way round.

Apologies, didn't realise that was the case.

Therefore if there are two games at Edgeley Park over the weekend, (e.g.1st/2nd Jan) and the pitch will only be up to one game, it will be the Rugby that goes ahead.

At leasst we'll be in the draw for the 4th Round!

The likelehood is the game will be moved to the Sunday or Monday evening for the pitch to recover should they beat Torquay.

Would they do that for a league game? Or is this a special privilege that only applies to the world's most famous football tournament (or at least the most famous tournament involving Stockport County)?

This shows the stupidity of playing rugby and football at the same ground.

At least Bristol Rugby and Wasps play on sundays AFTER any football.

its all about who owns the ground though - bristol and wasps are the tennants at their respective grounds, so they obviously dont get first choice. if sale own edgely park, then they are obviously going to put their needs first due it being THEIR ground
