It was only a personal observation on the FL Show, which obviously Greer thought too. I thought the player was standing next to DS in the goal mouth when he let the ball in .

To most people it would be a parry, to the anti Stockdale brigade it is a fumble. I put myself in the former group.

It depends on what Edna meant. If she meant the ball was played backwards so it can't be offside, no that's not the case. In theory, if CMS is in an offside position, Lualua pulls the cross back and it deflects off a defender to CMS he would still be offside, by virtue of having gained an advantage by being in that position when his team mate played the ball.
If Edna meant that 'logically speaking, if the ball was played backwards, it would have been away from the goal keeper, and the goal line, and thus it would have been difficult for a player on the goal line to be 'interfering with an opponent' then she could be right, depending on the specifics of the situation (ie if Stockdale is on the line in the middle of his goal, and the attacker is on the same side of the goal that the cross comes down he might block the keeper's view of the cross, if the player on the line is on the far side of the goal, he isn't blocking the keeper's view and as long as he doesn't hold the keeper back or get in the way of his dive then he isn't committing and offence).

I am not anti Stockdale in the slightest but time after time I feel like putting my head in my hands at the points he has cost us. I keep wanting to defend him but it is getting more and more difficult with every mistake

He does, they are very anti Stockdale on SCR and he is a very poor commentator, an example is Blackburn away, the way he described the own goal I thought Blackburn had scored, it wasn't until I saw posts of "yes" on NSC I realised otherwise.

What that picture does show is how close Stockdale was to Stephens when the ball was diverted his way by Stephens. Saying he fumbled a ball that was hit at him from such close range by his own player is extremely harsh.

If our forwards got their bloody fingers out and scored more goals, you and others would not be concerned with Stockdale. Why are we not seeing more criticism of the constant errors made continuously in front of goal. Name a goalie that has never made an error, and I will call you a liar.
We have a good keeper in David, and I can understand how his confidence can be affected by some of the clowns in front of him.
100% this. Errors are magnified loads due to our useless attack, who deserve a hundred times more stick than Stockdale is getting.
